In The Sims 4, although romantic interactions are varied, they don’t always reflect the natural ups and downs of a relationship. However, a new mod has arrived to change that. The Romantic Complaints Mod introduces more authentic dialogue between Sims who are in a romantic relationship, including the ability to complain about their partner. The result? More realistic, deeper, and even dramatic dynamics.

⚙️‎ ROMANTIC COMPLAINTS MOD

The Romantic Complaints Mod for The Sims 4, by UTOPYA_CC, adds a new menu of romantic interactions focused on conflict and disagreements within relationships. With this mod, Sims who have at least 30 romance points and have already shared their first kiss gain access to a new menu under the “Romance” category, where they can express frustrations, make complaints, and even justify their feelings through the “Complaints…” interaction.

In addition, there is a new menu called “Set Reasons to Complain”, available by SHIFT-clicking on a Sim in debug mode, allowing for more detailed adjustments and access to additional mod features.

  • Some interactions only appear under certain conditions (such as events…)

🛠️‎ CONFIGURING THE MOD

To configure the Romantic Complaints Mod, enable the cheat “testingcheats true” and click on the Sim’s romantic partner. The debug interaction “Complaints” will become available, allowing access to the mod’s settings.

Note: This option only appears for romantic interests who have at least 30 romance points.

When accessing the interaction, you will see three options, with the main one being “Set Reasons to Complain…”, where you can customize which complaints will be available for the Sim.

The selected interactions will be highlighted in green, indicating that they are active.

🗃️‎ WHERE TO INSTALL

Both the mod files and the translation files must be installed in the directory: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods.

🖼️‎ IMAGES

After configuring the Romantic Complaints Mod, simply click on the partner Sim, go to the Romance category in interactions, and select the “Complaints” option. There, you will find all the complaints you defined for use in the game.

The Romantic Complaints Mod adds several mood modifiers and new animations to the game.
